The Bomb.Times

They’ve installed the skating rink at the Frog Pond in the Boston Common. Not sure if this has been here for awhile but its the first time I’ve walked by it this holiday/winter season.

I got a Camera Bag app for my iPhone so I took a picture using the fisheye attachment. I think it came out pretty well (for a camera phone).

Went out for drinks/dinner last night and admittely drank a little bit too much. Tonight, I’m watching a couple things off Netflix and just laying low.

Last night, I came the closet I have ever come to being hit by a car.. I was walking home from work and was in a crosswalk when I had the signal! The intersection is a slight bit confusing, but basically, he did a right-on-red looking to his left but did not bother to look to his right.

I was to his right.

I literally had to jump out of the way and came inches from going up onto the hood. I’m not even kidding. What made it worse is when he thought he could go - he punched it then had to try to slam on the brakes because of me.

Time slowed down. I saw the hood and envisioned how I would roll and try to not get hurt. Such bull shit.

In other news..
Today, I have a ‘business’ lunch setup and then we’re just not coming back to work.. sshh Don’t tell anyone..

Tonight, going out for a few drinks someplace not sure yet. Looking forward to not having to travel anywhere today - traffic reports have been horrendous.

And.. I have a date setup for Monday so that should be exciting.

Ok, guess I should try to do some work before I leave in a couple hours.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING

I returned to Boston safely earlier (way early) today. My sister and brother-in-law had an ungodly early flight this morning. Since I needed to go past Albany Airport anyway I offered to take them. Then, I was told we needed to get up around 4AM and be at the airport by 5:30AM.

Sooo I got back to Boston around 9AM, returned the car and crashed on the couch. In fact, I really didn’t do much of anything but unpack and put stuff away. I REALLY do NOT want to go work tomorrow. But at least I’m going to head to bed now and get to work early tomorrow and maybe leave early!?!

Thanksgiving/Birthday celebrations on Saturday were very nice. We actually had a surprising amount of people show up and all the food was excellent. There were pictures taken with various cameras so we’ll see what comes my way…

Time to head to bed..

Last night had dinner and drinks out at Burton’s Grill in the neighborhood. Today, I’m headed to NY for a few days for an early Thanksgiving. Looking forward to see everyone over the next couple days.

BTW: Can you believe the Auto Executives riding in on their separate private jets to ask for bailout money. This is on top of the billions we already give them that gets less publicity.

Free Markets mean free to succeed and fail. The US Auto Industry didn’t give a fuck what would happen if gas hit $4/gallon and when it did they got hosed. They didn’t think about making a car that could sell without a 0.00% APR loan for the first year until the credit crisis hit the shitter.. These guys ran this into the ground. It wasn’t Union’s fault but rather top leaders asleep at the wheel and unable to change.

Friday Day: I took a day off because I have a TON of time available through the end of the year. I rented a Zipcar and did a little grocery shopping, went to Target and stopped by major liqour store and really stocked up. I’ve been experimenting with making different types of cocktails lately. Some good and some not so good but my shaker skills are down smooth. I’ve just had so much beer through the years, and still enjoy beer, but have been having fun experimenting [responsibly] and seeing what else is out there.

Friday night: I went to a club downtown that I hadn’t been to in seriously 5 years. I remember having an absolute blast there years ago and for whatever reason just haven’t gone back. We got there and nothing had changed and it was exactly as I remembered it except for one thing: I’ve gotten old. As you get older you realize just how these places are filled with lil’ young 20 somethings and how all the guys are d-bags. At any rate, it wasn’t worth 10 bucks to get in and unless I have a reason I won’t be going with any friends there again. Note: I turn 29 later this week.

Today: I submitted my initial information to the Obama-Biden Transition Team for possible inclusion of a non-career position within their White House. This means you serve at the pleasure of the President and is not a career position outside politics within our Federal government. The President-Elect has made it clear technology will be very important part of his communications and transparency.

In a couple days, I am to receive a more-detailed application, at which point, if they are interested I’ll be going through FBI background checks, etc.. I don’t really see much coming of this honestly. But I am a HUGE Barack supporter and highly skilled. So if I can attribute my professional expertise in this Administration - all the better!!
